PROJECT
When it came to researching and planning for the preliminary work I had no idea what I wanted to create except for the fact that I wanted the project to be black and white. Therefore I went on Pinterest and spent hours on looking at different ideas when I found something that caught my eyes.
One of the most interesting photography project ideas is to draw things in interaction with the people you shoot. I really liked this idea of a persons portrait in black and white and how it has outlined their features with a white thin digital pen. This type of editing photos has recently been a trend on social media. Anyone could create this using an app called PicsArt. However I got the inspiration from this kind of editing and created my own works blended in with my personal likes and ideas.
Once I had done all the research for my project I have organised every step and idea in order for the final result to turn out how I wanted. When planning the photoshoot I had to decide who was going to be the model, the location of the photoshoot, costumes, make-up and props:
For modelling I asked one of my friends, Darius to model because I thought that he is a very expressive person who would fit perfectly with my project.
I decided that for the location of the photoshoot I wanted to keep it simple as it will not be that important for my project due to the fact that I will be focusing and working with portraits. The location of the photoshoot was my bedroom. I chose this because I had a very simple but symmetrical painted wall which I would use for the photoshoot and also the lighting was really good.
For this photoshoot there was no need for a costume, therefore I had the model wear a black polo shirt, so that the main focus was on the model and not their clothing.
There were no props involved in the photoshoot because it was focused on the model.
For the actual photoshoot I have a couple of ideas which I will want to try out in case one of them doesn't turn out the way I want. These are some ideas of photos that I plan to take:
Model expressing a variety of facial expressions ( angry, happy, sad, annoyed, tired, confused)
Model standing it the same spot however using body parts to show different actions, movements .
Play with different lighting colours(using led lights) however they might not be visible after I edit the photos.
