PREPARING FOR THE PHOTOSHOOT..

After I had everything prepared I have chosen a day and time in which I focused just on the photoshoot. I asked my models to come over to my house where I took care of their hair, make up and costumes to make sure everything was how I wanted it to be. After we were ready I had my mother drive us to the location of the photoshoot as it was far away from my house. We got there in the afternoon which meant that we had to work quite quickly before it didn't get dark. I managed to take the photo ideas that I planned to take. For the photoshoot I wanted to work with natural light which is why I had to be very consistent with managing my time before it wouldn't be dark outside. For taking the photos I used a Nikon D5300 camera. After everything was set I started doing the photoshoot. For taking the photos I had to hold the camera in my hand, as I took a rage of photos which had different backgrounds. I played around with the angles and position of the camera.

I have also decided to include some props, these being crowns that I thought were very cute and would look good with the costumes and story. I found two crowns, a gold one with black crystals that I had the bride model wear and a white crown with white crystals that I had the broom model wear. The reason why I have chosen the models to wear the opposite colour crowns to their costumes and roles is to give the message that in a same-sex relationship both partners can play the "husband" or "wife" role.

I am very pleased with how the pictures turned out for the photoshoot. Here is a collage of all the pictures I managed to take :)

I feel like I have managed to take a good amount of photos in order to help me achieve the end results which I planned to archive for this project. I was able to experiment with different techniques such as different lightings, backgrounds, positions and facial expressions which is what I had in mind. Here are some of my favourite outcomes that I have managed to pick out from the photoshoot..

EDITING..

For editing the photos I used Adobe Photoshop and I used the infrared option from the B&W section to edit the photos and make them look vintage. I used this feature as I wanted the photos for this project to be black and white like the other project and I wanted to make them look like they were taken in the late 60s towards the 70s when cameras were not very advanced and photos were usually uncoloured therefore black and white.

After I have chosen the photos and I edited them, I used an app called Splice to put together all the series of photos that I took into a small videoclip. I had a lot of fun with this app however I did not manage to add background music to the video as I had to have the pro version of the app, however I like the video better without any music as the video is only 15 seconds.
